Reading is the thing to make your smarter, and that is also the reason why here I present you with 9 best eBook reader apps for your Android phones and tablets. Admit it, holding a real book in our hands - a book that we can touch, smell and feel, is a totally fine experience. However, our portable devices now make carrying around an entire library a whole lot easier!

1. Google Play Books

Google's own eBook reader app, the most catchy thing about this app is that it offers over 3 million books for free download. On the feature side, it comes with all the functions you would expect from a good Android reader app. The most great thing is that it sync across all your devices means you can start reading a book on your tablets then resume reading where you left from your phone or in the computer. It supports the most popular eBook formats.

2. Kindle

If you already own a Kindle and purchase most of your book on Amazon's Kindle store, you will fall in love with this Android Kindle app. You can read a book on your Kindle, open the Kindle app on Android and it will automatically take you to the page where you left. It does a great job for you to change font of the books, font size, brightness and backgrounds. It will automatically sync all your book from Kindle or any other device where you installed the app. This app has more than 10 million downloads and allow your to purchase book as well.

My favorite Android app for reading eBook. Its interface is amazing with smooth scrolling and great visual effect, and it comes with a Day & Night mode for great reading experience without hurting your eyes. Real page turning effect seems very cool. The app also got gesture based controls to do many things such as zooming, lock the page, adjust brightness level and many more. Easily download an eBook or PDF book on your device and instantly find it on Moon Reader library. Some of the supported ebook formats are ePub, PDF, TXT, HTML, FB2, CHM, ZIP, UMD, MOBI and OPDS.

  4. I downloaded Moon+ Reader Pro and have NO IDEA how to access uploaded books from this program. I hooked up my phone to my laptop and dragged and dropped a few eBooks into it but they do not appear in the Moon+ Reader automatically like music files do. It looks like you have to download your ebooks onto your phones' SD card. REALLY?? How do you do that and how is that convenient?
