The S4's design is perhaps the most unremarkable aspect of the new phone. It hasn't been updated much from the S3's look. More disappointedly, it still features a plastic casing. Yes I should admit that the plastic frame of the S4 makes it lighter than HTC One. And the S4 might be the better option if weight is an issue for you.
HTC, on the other hand, has given the One a premium, quality build. Its unibody aluminum chassis and thin bezel set it apart from the competition. Personally, its high-end build quality makes the HTC One a front runner in this round.

Samsung has given the Galaxy S4 a Full HD 5-inch display with a resolution of 441ppi. Images and videos are expected to be crystal clear on the handset. Its Air View technology is one of its most differentiating features.
The HTC One packs in a 4.7-inch SLCD3 screen with a resolution of 1280 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 468ppi. Users could enjoy vivid contrasts and vibrant colours on the phone.
With its new-age technology, the Galaxy S4 wins the display round.

The Galaxy S4's processor has created quite a stir in the tech world. The handset is equipped with the Exynos Octa-core chipset clocked at 1.6GHz. It has more than enough juice to run all its apps flawlessly.
The HTC One runs on a 1.7GHZ quad-core Qualcomm 600 processor and an Adreno 320 GPU. The handset is built for multi-tasking and handles all of Android Jelly Bean’s sophisticated apps with ease.
With its most updated processor, the Galaxy S4 races ahead in the power round.

Samsung has given its latest flagship ample amount of internal storage – available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavours, along with external memory expansion options. The Galaxy S4 also comes with 2GB of RAM.
HTC has designed its new flagship in variants of 32GB and 64GB of internal space. Though it packs in a RAM of 2GB as well, it does not support external memory expansion.
Its generosity with storage makes Samsung a winner in this round.

- Operating System
Samsung's Galaxy S4 features Google's Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS out of the box. The HTC One, although featuring Android Jelly Bean, only ships with Android 4.1.
Besides, Galaxy S4 also comes with its Touchwiz, offering some new unique software features you cannot see on HTC One.

The Galaxy S4 packs in a 13-megapixel primary snapper and a 2-megapixel front shooter. Smart Scroll, Air Gesture and Smart Pause are its most defining features, giving Smart Stay a whole new personality.
HTC One's 4-megapixel camera boasts of specs like Optical Image Stabilization, Smart Flash, HDR, Continuous Shooting, Video Pic, Slow Motion Video Recording, HTC Zoe Share, HTC Zoe with Highlights and Retouch with Object Removal, Always Smile and Sequence Shot. One of the best features of the phone’s secondary snapper is its 88 degrees wide angle lens with HDR capability.
The Galaxy S4’s 13-megapixel snapper and HTC One’s added features put them head-to-head in this round.

If you currently stuck in picking up a Galaxy S4 or HTC One, I should say you are in a tough choice. Both devices are pretty neck and neck, though the Galaxy S4 seems to beat the HTC One in many ways, but not by much.
Undoubtedly the Galaxy S4 is a smartphone giant. Its new age specs put it right on top of the competition. Its only shortcut seems to be the plastic casing.
Talking about HTC One, it gives the Galaxy S4 some pretty stiff competition. Its premium build helps it win fans, but Samsung's offering might be preferred by those who desire extra storage on their handsets.
