Ready for a spooky Halloween movie night? Here are some of the best Halloween movies ever!

Yes, Halloween is just around the corner, again. When it comes to Halloween, apart from parties and having fun with kids, another exciting thing is to catch a spooky or bloody or funny movie with families or friends or alone. There are so many movies about Halloween, and also so many scary movies that is irrelevant with Halloween but release around the day of Halloween. With the success of Halloween (2018) film, people are starting to pay more attentions on good and exciting Halloween movies, and that's why I have gathered some of the best Halloween movies of all time, so that you can have more choice when you want to watch a Halloween movie, or see if your favourites are in here.

Halloween (2018)

It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. -- but this time, she's ready for him. As the eleventh installment in the Halloween film series, Halloween (2018) was released in the United States on October 19, 2018, and have received mostly positive reviews from critics, with many considering it to be both the best Halloween sequel and a return to form for the series, and with Curtis's performance being praised. The film has grossed over $95 million, making it the highest grossing film in the franchise. So if you want to have an exciting Halloween experience in the movie theater, this is your chance.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

After the scary, intense one, here comes a cute and lovely Halloween TV special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. In this Halloween special, Charlie Brown is excited to be invited to his first ever party, Violet's Halloween party. Before the party, the Peanuts gang plan to go trick or treating, with Snoopy, who is dressed as the WWI flying ace, taking his Halloween persona to an extreme. The one person who won't be joining them for the trick or treating or the party is Linus, who will be waiting in his local pumpkin patch for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin. Linus believes that the Great Pumpkin rises out of the most sincere pumpkin patch - none more sincere than his own local one - flies into the air, and delivers presents to all the boys and girls around the world. Because of his belief, Linus is the laughing stock among his friends. Sally is torn between going trick or treating for the first time and attending Violet's sure fire fun Halloween party, or following her love Linus and waiting for the Great Pumpkin's arrival with him. If you are afraid of bloody or spooky films, this might be just the right film you should watch in Halloween.

Corpse Bride (2005)

Corpse Bride is a 2005 British-American stop-motion animated musical fantasy film. in this film, Victor (Johnny Depp) and Victoria's (Emily Watson) families have arranged their marriage. Though they like each other, Victor is nervous about the ceremony. While he's in a forest practicing his lines for the wedding, a tree branch becomes a hand that drags him to the land of the dead. It belongs to Emily, who was murdered after eloping with her love and wants to marry Victor. Victor must get back aboveground before Victoria marries the villainous Barkis Bittern (Richard E. Grant). This film is not scary, even children can enjoy it very much.

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

When five college friends (Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams) arrive at a remote forest cabin for a little vacation, little do they expect the horrors that await them. One by one, the youths fall victim to backwoods zombies, but there is another factor at play. Two scientists (Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford) are manipulating the ghoulish goings-on, but even as the body count rises, there is yet more at work than meets the eye. compare to the one above, this is a serious Halloween horror movie so you better prepare yourself before watching.

Jigsaw (2017)

Saw was a franchise with great success. After so  many years, a new movie was finally released under the name Jigsaw. In this film, After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement officials find themselves chasing the ghost of a man who has been dead for over a decade, and they become embroiled in a new game that's only just begun. Is John Kramer back from the dead to remind the world to be grateful for the gift of life? Or is this a trap set by a killer with designs of his own? Find out yourself in the movie! Also, if you have not watched the original Saw franchise, it's highly recommended that you give it a shot, it's amazing!

Bottom line

These are the Halloween movies that I consider the best ones. Among them there are horror movies, crime movies, fantasy movies and movies for kids, so no matter what you like, you will for sure have a good time with them in Halloween. You can download these movies from some free Blu-ray download sites, then you can play them on your computer, or you can burn them to a DVD using Leawo DVD Creator to preserve them longer. Get Ant-Man and the Wasp Now! Blu-ray Releases on October 2018

October is a big month for movie fans. Led by the exciting Ant-Man and the Wasp Blu-ray, many excellent movies have already become or will become available in a few days in Blu-ray. Today let's see some of the most exciting Blu-ray releases on October 2018.

Before we start, remember to install Leawo Blu-ray Player for FREE on your PC or Mac to play any Blu-ray or DVD across region in high quality! Now, let's get started!

The First Purge (October 2nd)

Following The Purge, The Purge Anarchy, The Purge Election Year, The First Purge is the latest chapter in The Purge series. This movie serves as an origin story, depicting the time when the New Founding Fathers of America instituted the first purge in an isolated community, only to find it spreading across the nation. Directed by Gerard McMurray (Burning Sands) from a script by the original creator and director of the first three films, James DeMonaco, the film also stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei.

The First Purge has already hit Blu-ray at October 2th. Now you can see how the contagion explodes from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation at home.

Three Identical Strangers (October 2nd)

In this 2018 documentary film directed by Tim Wardle and starring Robert Shafran, Edward Galland, and David Kellman, it examines a set of American triplets who were adopted as six-month-old infants by separate families, unaware that each child had brothers. The separations were done as part of an undisclosed scientific "nature versus nurture" twin study, to track the development of genetically identical siblings raised in differing circumstances. The documentary reveals how the brothers discovered one another at age 19 and thereafter sought to understand the circumstances of their separation.

Three Identical Strangers Blu-ray was released also at October 2th, those who are interested in this must-see documentary can now get a Blu-ray or DVD copy from online or local DVD store.

Skyscraper (October 9th)

This summer's mandatory Dwayne Johnson action film was written and directed by Rawson Thurber, who previously teamed with The Rock for Central Intelligence. Skyscraper is not technically a remake of '70s disaster flick The Towering Inferno despite sharing a basic premise: the world's tallest building is on fire. In this case, the flames are part of a terrorist attack, but Johnson's former FBI agent is on hand to save the day.

Trust me, Skyscraper is the exact kind of movie that you want to buy a DVD or Blu-ray copy of and watch on your couch with popcorn and soda in your hands. Now you can buy a copy for yourself and enjoy your next movie night!

Ant-Man and the Wasp (October 16th)

And now we have Ant-Man and the Wasp. Produced by Marvel, this is a sequel to 2015‘s Ant-Man that finds Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang under house arrest and in charge of a security business cleverly named X-CON with friends Luis (Michael Peña), Dave (Tip “T.I.” Harris), and Kurt (David Dastmalchian). When Hank (Michael Douglas) and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) call on him to help in the rescue of Hank’s wife Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer), Scott is lured out of retirement, but this time he’s paired with Lilly’s much more talented Wasp. Their foes include the mysterious Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Walton Goggins’ Sonny Burch. Critics liked the sequel a bit more than the original.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (October 23rd)

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the second film in the Abba musical franchise, arrives a decade after its predecessor. This time it's not adapted from a stage production, though it does feature a Greek island setting and plenty of Abba hits—so fans of the first film likely won't be disappointed. Cher joins returning stars Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, and Dominic Cooper.

Now these are some of the most exciting Blu-ray releases on October 2018. For those movies that have already released on Blu-ray, you can buy the Blu-ray copy from online store or local DVD store. If you need a digital version, you can also check some Blu-ray download sites for downloads. Hope you enjoy the Blu-ray of the movie you like!

From CD to Blu-ray, the evolution of movie optical discs

As media technology evolves, Blu-ray disc is nothing new to us. People love to buy Blu-ray version of movies for both collecting and viewing purpose. Comparing to DVD, Blu-ray has a way larger storage capability thus can keep movies in a much better quality. Not only that, more and more people even love to buy blank Blu-ray discs to burn Blu-ray movies on Mac or Windows themselves. So, how did Blu-ray became as it is nowadays? And what's the history of Blu-ray?

To talk about the history of Blu-ray, we have to start with the CD. When the CD was introduced in the early '80s, it meant an enormous leap from traditional media. Not only did it offer a significant improvement in audio quality, its primary application, but its 650 MB storage capacity also meant a giant leap in data storage and retrieval. For the first time, there was a universal standard for pre-recorded, recordable and rewritable media, offering the best quality and features consumers could wish for themselves, at very low costs.

Although the CD was a very useful medium for the recording and distribution of audio and some modest data applications, demand for a new medium offering higher storage capacities rose in the '90s. These demands lead to the evolution of the DVD specification and a 5-10 times of increase in capacity. This enabled high quality, standard definition video distribution and recording. Furthermore, the increased capacity accommodated more demanding data applications. At the same time, the DVD spec used the same form factor as the CD, allowing for seamless migration to the next generation format and offering full backwards compatibility.

Now, in the next millennium, high definition video demands a new solution. History proved that a significant 5-10 x increase in storage capacity and the ability to play previous generation formats are key elements for a new format to succeed. This new format has arrived with the advent of Blu-ray Disc, the only format that offers a considerable increase in storage capacity with its 25 to 50 GB data capacity. This allows for the next big application of optical media: the distribution and recording of high definition video in the highest possible quality. In fact, no other format can offer the data capacity of Blu-ray Disc, and no other format will allow for the same high video quality and interactive features to create the ultimate user experience. As with DVD, the Blu-ray Disc format is based on the same, bare disc physical form factor, allowing for compatibility with CD and DVD.

That is the evolution story of the Blu-ray. As we can see, it didn't take too long for CD to become Blu-ray, but the improvement it brought to us is enormous, thanks to the fast-developing technology. Now, we can watch high-quality movie on our Blu-ray player in our own house. What's better is that, with the right software, we can even play Blu-ray on our computer.
