8 fun Thanksgiving games for all families that you should play this year!

Thanksgiving is coming! Here are some great Thanksgiving games that you can play with your children to celebrate the Thanksgiving once a year! Check this out and have a happy Thanksgiving with your families.

Thanksgiving games you can play with your kids

No 1. DON'T EAT TOM!

Your kid's favorite classroom game, "Don't Eat Pete," just got a Thanksgiving makeover! “Don’t Eat Tom!” can be played 2 or more players, and here is how it works:

1. Place one piece of candy or whatever marker you choose in each square.
2. Have one child out of the group leave the room.
3. The other children decide which square will be “Tom” for that game. It can be any one, but only one.
4. The child comes back in the room and takes one candy at a time, until he reaches for the one designated as “Tom”….
5. The rest of the children say, “DON’T EAT TOM!”
6. Play starts over with another person leaving the room, the grid is all filled, and another “Tom” is chosen,

No 2. Pin The Feather On The Turkey

To play Pin The Feather On The Turkey, all you have to do is cut out the shapes to make a turkey and a bunch of feathers, then you'll play it just like a rousing game of pin the tail on the donkey—except that it's more like tape the tailfeather on the turkey. As you can see, a little construction paper and painter's tape can go a long way when it comes to entertaining kids on Thanksgiving!

No 3. Turkey Tag

This game can be considered a Thanksgiving version of flag tag. If weather permits, this is definitely a good game to play with your families. In this game, each player wears three clothespins on their clothing. Participants run around trying to remove clothespins from competitors. This is an activity that combines the need to get moving with a healthy dose of competition.

No 4. Pumpkin Roll

This one gets everyone moving and could help burn off those extra calories from the big dinner. You need two large pumpkins and maybe a couple of spares if one breaks. Pumpkins are not smooth balls, so they do not roll in a straight line. They tend to roll all over the place, which means big space is needed for this game. Racers line up and use their hands to move the pumpkin to the finish line. If you have many players, then make it a relay race.

No 5. For Thanksgiving Dinner I Had

For Thanksgiving Dinner I Had is a fun memory game that might have your guests or kids all tongue-tied! This is how it works: the first person starts by saying For Thanksgiving dinner I had then adds something they actually ate, like turkey. The second person has to repeat the first person’s sentence adding another food item at the end. The game continues around the circle. If a player makes a mistake, they are out. The person who can perfectly recite the Thanksgiving menu is the winner.

No 6. Thanksgiving Trivia

This little game requires a little knowledge. To play this game, you have to research fun facts about Thanksgiving, and quiz participants. Some samples: “How many turkeys are sold annually for Thanksgiving?” “What is the average size of a family’s turkey?” Write facts on note cards. It’s likely the guessers will not know the exact answers for some questions, but award the points to the one person who comes closest to guessing correctly.

No 7. Guess How Many

Fill an apothecary jar with candy corn and place in the center of your tablescape. If you have a pumpkin-shaped jar then it's even better. Provide guests with slips of paper and then ask them to guess how many candy corn kernels are in the jar. Whoever's guess is closest gets to take the jar home.

No 8. Thankful Alphabet Game

You can play this at the table or any time you want. A family member begins by saying something he or she is grateful for that starts with the letter A. The next person gives a grateful thanks starting with the letter B. Go around until your family gets to the letter Z. It’s a fun game especially with younger kids who are still mastering the alphabet.

A little tip for playing games on Thanksgiving

When you are enjoying your Thanksgiving with your families, never forget to record some footage of all of you having fun. Happy and union times are precious, you will find it so valuable after a few years or when your kids grow up. Furthermore,  remember to make a DVD with the footage you recorded, and preserve it for the future. Leawo DVD Creator is a great tool to burn you footage to a DVD disc, you can create a beautiful DVD menu in it and make your happy memory looks even better. Enjoy your Thanksgiving, and save the good memories for the future.

Ready for a spooky Halloween movie night? Here are some of the best Halloween movies ever!

Yes, Halloween is just around the corner, again. When it comes to Halloween, apart from parties and having fun with kids, another exciting thing is to catch a spooky or bloody or funny movie with families or friends or alone. There are so many movies about Halloween, and also so many scary movies that is irrelevant with Halloween but release around the day of Halloween. With the success of Halloween (2018) film, people are starting to pay more attentions on good and exciting Halloween movies, and that's why I have gathered some of the best Halloween movies of all time, so that you can have more choice when you want to watch a Halloween movie, or see if your favourites are in here.

Halloween (2018)

It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. -- but this time, she's ready for him. As the eleventh installment in the Halloween film series, Halloween (2018) was released in the United States on October 19, 2018, and have received mostly positive reviews from critics, with many considering it to be both the best Halloween sequel and a return to form for the series, and with Curtis's performance being praised. The film has grossed over $95 million, making it the highest grossing film in the franchise. So if you want to have an exciting Halloween experience in the movie theater, this is your chance.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

After the scary, intense one, here comes a cute and lovely Halloween TV special It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. In this Halloween special, Charlie Brown is excited to be invited to his first ever party, Violet's Halloween party. Before the party, the Peanuts gang plan to go trick or treating, with Snoopy, who is dressed as the WWI flying ace, taking his Halloween persona to an extreme. The one person who won't be joining them for the trick or treating or the party is Linus, who will be waiting in his local pumpkin patch for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin. Linus believes that the Great Pumpkin rises out of the most sincere pumpkin patch - none more sincere than his own local one - flies into the air, and delivers presents to all the boys and girls around the world. Because of his belief, Linus is the laughing stock among his friends. Sally is torn between going trick or treating for the first time and attending Violet's sure fire fun Halloween party, or following her love Linus and waiting for the Great Pumpkin's arrival with him. If you are afraid of bloody or spooky films, this might be just the right film you should watch in Halloween.

Corpse Bride (2005)

Corpse Bride is a 2005 British-American stop-motion animated musical fantasy film. in this film, Victor (Johnny Depp) and Victoria's (Emily Watson) families have arranged their marriage. Though they like each other, Victor is nervous about the ceremony. While he's in a forest practicing his lines for the wedding, a tree branch becomes a hand that drags him to the land of the dead. It belongs to Emily, who was murdered after eloping with her love and wants to marry Victor. Victor must get back aboveground before Victoria marries the villainous Barkis Bittern (Richard E. Grant). This film is not scary, even children can enjoy it very much.

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

When five college friends (Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams) arrive at a remote forest cabin for a little vacation, little do they expect the horrors that await them. One by one, the youths fall victim to backwoods zombies, but there is another factor at play. Two scientists (Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford) are manipulating the ghoulish goings-on, but even as the body count rises, there is yet more at work than meets the eye. compare to the one above, this is a serious Halloween horror movie so you better prepare yourself before watching.

Jigsaw (2017)

Saw was a franchise with great success. After so  many years, a new movie was finally released under the name Jigsaw. In this film, After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement officials find themselves chasing the ghost of a man who has been dead for over a decade, and they become embroiled in a new game that's only just begun. Is John Kramer back from the dead to remind the world to be grateful for the gift of life? Or is this a trap set by a killer with designs of his own? Find out yourself in the movie! Also, if you have not watched the original Saw franchise, it's highly recommended that you give it a shot, it's amazing!

Bottom line

These are the Halloween movies that I consider the best ones. Among them there are horror movies, crime movies, fantasy movies and movies for kids, so no matter what you like, you will for sure have a good time with them in Halloween. You can download these movies from some free Blu-ray download sites, then you can play them on your computer, or you can burn them to a DVD using Leawo DVD Creator to preserve them longer. If you decide to watch movie on your PC, it's suggested you download and install Leawo Blu-ray Player, the free player program that can give you the best watching experience and keep the original quality of the movie while playing. With a good player software and great movies, I'm sure you will enjoy your Halloween movie night so much!

Get Ant-Man and the Wasp Now! Blu-ray Releases on October 2018

October is a big month for movie fans. Led by the exciting Ant-Man and the Wasp Blu-ray, many excellent movies have already become or will become available in a few days in Blu-ray. Today let's see some of the most exciting Blu-ray releases on October 2018.

Before we start, remember to install Leawo Blu-ray Player for FREE on your PC or Mac to play any Blu-ray or DVD across region in high quality! Now, let's get started!

The First Purge (October 2nd)

Following The Purge, The Purge Anarchy, The Purge Election Year, The First Purge is the latest chapter in The Purge series. This movie serves as an origin story, depicting the time when the New Founding Fathers of America instituted the first purge in an isolated community, only to find it spreading across the nation. Directed by Gerard McMurray (Burning Sands) from a script by the original creator and director of the first three films, James DeMonaco, the film also stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei.

The First Purge has already hit Blu-ray at October 2th. Now you can see how the contagion explodes from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation at home.

Three Identical Strangers (October 2nd)

In this 2018 documentary film directed by Tim Wardle and starring Robert Shafran, Edward Galland, and David Kellman, it examines a set of American triplets who were adopted as six-month-old infants by separate families, unaware that each child had brothers. The separations were done as part of an undisclosed scientific "nature versus nurture" twin study, to track the development of genetically identical siblings raised in differing circumstances. The documentary reveals how the brothers discovered one another at age 19 and thereafter sought to understand the circumstances of their separation.

Three Identical Strangers Blu-ray was released also at October 2th, those who are interested in this must-see documentary can now get a Blu-ray or DVD copy from online or local DVD store.

Skyscraper (October 9th)

This summer's mandatory Dwayne Johnson action film was written and directed by Rawson Thurber, who previously teamed with The Rock for Central Intelligence. Skyscraper is not technically a remake of '70s disaster flick The Towering Inferno despite sharing a basic premise: the world's tallest building is on fire. In this case, the flames are part of a terrorist attack, but Johnson's former FBI agent is on hand to save the day.

Trust me, Skyscraper is the exact kind of movie that you want to buy a DVD or Blu-ray copy of and watch on your couch with popcorn and soda in your hands. Now you can buy a copy for yourself and enjoy your next movie night!

Ant-Man and the Wasp (October 16th)

And now we have Ant-Man and the Wasp. Produced by Marvel, this is a sequel to 2015‘s Ant-Man that finds Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang under house arrest and in charge of a security business cleverly named X-CON with friends Luis (Michael Peña), Dave (Tip “T.I.” Harris), and Kurt (David Dastmalchian). When Hank (Michael Douglas) and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) call on him to help in the rescue of Hank’s wife Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer), Scott is lured out of retirement, but this time he’s paired with Lilly’s much more talented Wasp. Their foes include the mysterious Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Walton Goggins’ Sonny Burch. Critics liked the sequel a bit more than the original.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (October 23rd)

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the second film in the Abba musical franchise, arrives a decade after its predecessor. This time it's not adapted from a stage production, though it does feature a Greek island setting and plenty of Abba hits—so fans of the first film likely won't be disappointed. Cher joins returning stars Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, and Dominic Cooper.

Now these are some of the most exciting Blu-ray releases on October 2018. For those movies that have already released on Blu-ray, you can buy the Blu-ray copy from online store or local DVD store. If you need a digital version, you can also check some Blu-ray download sites for downloads. Hope you enjoy the Blu-ray of the movie you like!

From CD to Blu-ray, the evolution of movie optical discs

As media technology evolves, Blu-ray disc is nothing new to us. People love to buy Blu-ray version of movies for both collecting and viewing purpose. Comparing to DVD, Blu-ray has a way larger storage capability thus can keep movies in a much better quality. Not only that, more and more people even love to buy blank Blu-ray discs to burn Blu-ray movies on Mac or Windows themselves. So, how did Blu-ray became as it is nowadays? And what's the history of Blu-ray?

To talk about the history of Blu-ray, we have to start with the CD. When the CD was introduced in the early '80s, it meant an enormous leap from traditional media. Not only did it offer a significant improvement in audio quality, its primary application, but its 650 MB storage capacity also meant a giant leap in data storage and retrieval. For the first time, there was a universal standard for pre-recorded, recordable and rewritable media, offering the best quality and features consumers could wish for themselves, at very low costs.

Although the CD was a very useful medium for the recording and distribution of audio and some modest data applications, demand for a new medium offering higher storage capacities rose in the '90s. These demands lead to the evolution of the DVD specification and a 5-10 times of increase in capacity. This enabled high quality, standard definition video distribution and recording. Furthermore, the increased capacity accommodated more demanding data applications. At the same time, the DVD spec used the same form factor as the CD, allowing for seamless migration to the next generation format and offering full backwards compatibility.

Now, in the next millennium, high definition video demands a new solution. History proved that a significant 5-10 x increase in storage capacity and the ability to play previous generation formats are key elements for a new format to succeed. This new format has arrived with the advent of Blu-ray Disc, the only format that offers a considerable increase in storage capacity with its 25 to 50 GB data capacity. This allows for the next big application of optical media: the distribution and recording of high definition video in the highest possible quality. In fact, no other format can offer the data capacity of Blu-ray Disc, and no other format will allow for the same high video quality and interactive features to create the ultimate user experience. As with DVD, the Blu-ray Disc format is based on the same, bare disc physical form factor, allowing for compatibility with CD and DVD.

That is the evolution story of the Blu-ray. As we can see, it didn't take too long for CD to become Blu-ray, but the improvement it brought to us is enormous, thanks to the fast-developing technology. Now, we can watch high-quality movie on our Blu-ray player in our own house. What's better is that, with the right software, we can even play Blu-ray on our computer.

Leawo Blu-ray Player is a free multi-functional media player for both Windows and Mac system. With Leawo Blu-ray Player installed on your desktop or laptop, you can play any Blu-ray or DVD disc or ISO file or folder in one click. Origination of all Battle royale games: what you knew could be wrong

PUBG, aka PlayerUnknown's Battleground, is the most hot video game in 2017 to 2018, hands down. The unique gameplay and intense atmosphere made this game gone so viral so quick. According to data from Steam Charts, PUBG’s peak player count reached its highest point ever in January 2018 at 3,236,027, and the game has sold more than 5,000,000 copies in total. The game itself has become a part of Internet culture inevitably.

With PUBG going viral, more and more game developers jumped in and try to stir the water, and the concept of "Battle Royale Game" draws more and more attention. A battle royale game is a game where a bunch of players (usually a couple of dozens to a hunduard) spawned on a limited map, collect gears and fight against each other to be the last one standing. From the famous Fortnite Battle Royale, H1Z1, to the less popular games Last Man Standing, Realm Royale, to the latest unique Ring of Elysium, it's hard to say that battle royale is going to be left over anytime soon.

However, these games are not what we are going to talk about today. What we really are going to talk about, is the very origin of all the battle royale games. You may have fought one of those fights or two, but do you know what inspired the battle royale game concept itself?

The Hunger Games? Not really.

Speaking of the origin of battle royale games, most people may think of a 2012 movie The Hunger Games, and take that as the inspiration of battle royale games. Indeed, the movie The Hunger Games and the battle royale games we are playing today do have some identical features. The novel based movie tells a story about 12 boys and girls , aged between the ages of 12 and 18, being picked to compete in the Hunger Games: a nationally televised event in which 'tributes' fight each other within an arena, until one survivor remains. That seems to be extremely alike with the concept of battle royale games, and it indeed is a good movie franchise. However, the true origination of battle royale games can go back way earlier than this movie.

The whole story

To find the origination of  battle royale games, let's take a look at the whole story of its development, starting with the most popular game Fortnite Battle Royale.

As we all know, Fortnite Battle Royale was released following the sudden success of PUBG. Fortnite was originally a coop survival zombie game where you can build stuffs to defend yourself from zombie horde. Fortnite Battle Royale is a spin off of Fortnite which features Battle Royale gameplay.

PUBG itself, is a standalone game based on PLAYERUNKNOWN’S Battle Royale, a custom map created by PlayerUnknown (Brandon) himself. Brendan later on supervised the development of PUBG by Bluehole, a Korean game company.

Before the PLAYERUNKNOWN’S Battle Royale, from 2014 to 2016, there were ArmA 3's Battle Royale mod, H1Z1: King of the Kill. Now we are very close to the beginning.

The earliest battle royale game is some times considered Minecraft Hunger Games. This is a combination of Minecraft and The Hunger Games movie, but this is not the start yet.

Now we have the movie The Hunger Games, which was first released 2012. In the same year, DayZ mod appeared.  technically speaking, DayZ doesn't set players against one another. There aren't any built-in objectives other than "live as long as possible". But many folks end up shooting at each other anyway because people are like that. If you're careful you could keep playing the same character for weeks or months at a time.

The True Origin

Back to the story, before The Hunger Games and DayZ mod is the true origin of the concept of battle royale, which is, well, Battle Royale, a 2000 controversial Japanese novel-turned-film written by Koushun Takami.

The film tells a story in which a dystopian government strands a junior high school class on an island. The classmates are given a random assortment of weapons and forced (under threat of exploding collars) to kill each other until only one is left standing. It's all televised as a horrifying spectacle to keep the populace scared and divided. Sounds like The Hunger Games? Well, this movie is actually earlier, and is the true inspiration for Brandon, PlayerUnknown to create the PlayerUnknown's Battle Royale, which turned into PUBG and inspired all the battle royale games came after.

Battle royale games and movies

From the development of the concept "battle royale games", we can see that the birth of battle royale games have a deep bond with movies. From the Battle Royale (2000) in the very beginning, to the more popular one The Hunger Games (2012), they do share a lot of things in common and have a great intense atmosphere. Except for these movies, do you know that the congratulating phrase on PUBG when you win, "Winner winner, chicken dinner", was firstly gone famous in the true-story-based movie 21 (2008). The origin of the phrase itself however, is another LONG story to tell.

If you are interested in these movies, you can buy or rent the DVD or Blu-ray discs or find them in some Blu-ray download sites. There is this Leawo Blu-ray Player that is specially designed for high definition DVD/Blu-ray playback, and can provide you the best watching experience for free.

DVD/Blu-ray newly released on August 2018, These top trending movies are available now!

Watching a movie only at movie theater for once is never enough for movie enthusiasts. For an excellent movie, not only are people willing to watch them again and again at the movie theater, they also want to have their own copy of the movie for later enjoyment or collection, DVD or Blu-ray. But the problem is, the release date of DVD and Blu-ray can sometimes be obscure. So, for your convenience, we have collected some most trending movies whose DVD or Blu-ray have just been released on August 2018. If your favorite movie is on the list, don't hesitate and go get yourself a copy, because it's available now!

 Book Club (DVD & Blu-ray),  AUGUST 28

Staring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen, this movie is a fairly successful bit of summer counter-programming aimed at an audience old enough to remember books. The movie tells a story of lifelong friends whose lives change after reading 50 Shades of Grey. It's the directorial debut for writer/producer Bill Holderman.

First Reformed (DVD & Blu-ray), AUGUST 21

This is a must-see one for writer-director Paul Schrader fans. The movies stars Ethan Hawke as Reverend Ernst Toller, a tortured ex-military priest struggling with a dwindling congregation and guilt over the death of his son in the Iraq War. When a pregnant parishioner played by Amanda Seyfried requests that he counsel her husband, Reverend Toller must confront his past and humanity’s future. It's fairly a huge improvement over Schrader’s previous directorial efforts.

 Deadpool 2 (DVD & Blu-ray), AUGUST 21

As the inevitable sequel to Tim Miller's hit 2016 X-Men spinoff, this movie stars Ryan Reynolds as the wisecracking "merc with a mouth" returns much of the cast but finds Atomic Blonde's David Leitch taking over as director. Joining the fun are Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, and Terry Crews. Deadpool 2 actually scored a point higher than the first film, though it performed slightly worse at the box office. So buying a DVD or Blu-ray copy should be a good choice for those who didn't go to the theater.

Avengers: Infinity War (DVD & Blu-ray), AUGUST 14

In the second of three Marvel movies in 2018, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes finally come face to face with Thanos (Josh Brolin under CGI). He wants to acquire all six infinity stones; they want to stop him. Following a pair of Avengers films directed by Joss Whedon, Infinity War marks the first of two that will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with their follow-up due 2019, May.

The Rider (DVD), AUGUST 7

As this year's best-reviewed movie to date, This movie is Chinese-American filmmaker Chloé Zhao’s follow-up to Songs My Brothers Taught Me. The drama, which won the top award at the 2017 Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight, follows a young cowboy on the Pine Ridge Reservation as he struggles to come to terms with not being able to ride after a horse crushes his skull. Based on events from Jandreau’s life and also starring his father and sister as versions of themselves, the film, like Zhao’s first feature, is an immersive look at life in this Sioux community.

Giant guy iPhone XS Max announced, and we just discovered a new usage of it

In the Apple event happened a few hours ago, Apple just announced four new products, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch 4. Although Apple Watch 4 accidentally became the highlight of the whole event, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max has also gained enough attentions.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are iterations on last year’s iPhone X, so it's not surprising that there are few innovation for us on the products. But the XS Max at least stands out in one very notable way: it’s so much larger. The new iPhone XS Max has a 6.5-inch screen, making it a bigger phone than even the latest model in Samsung’s famously large Galaxy Note line. A giant phone like this is truly remarkable in Apple's product line.

As you can see in the photos, it is almost hard to distinguish iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max from the pictures. Like a lot of people, I'm not a fan for any "Plus" iPhone. But the Max feels much better than any “Plus” iPhone ever has. If you also don't like "Plus" iPhones, at least try to hold the new Max size, and you might change your decision.

The iPhone XS has the same 5.8-inch size, OLED tech, and 2436 x 1125 resolution as the iPhone X, though it’s also supposed to have 60 percent greater dynamic range for more vibrant images. The XS Max takes the OLED screen and dynamic range gains and brings them to a 6.5-inch size, with a 2688 x 1242 resolution. Both have the same 458 ppi pixel density, so you don’t lose out on sharpness by going larger.

What's the best advantage of an iPhone with an extra-sized screen? The first thing that comes to my mind is that we can enjoy high-quality Blu-ray movies on our iPhone. Yes, we can watch movies on other phones as well, but not in a very high quality because the limitation of cpu capability and screen size. with an iPhone like iPhone XS Max, we can finally enjoy Blu-ray movies on an iPhone without any trouble.

How to watch Blu-ray on iPhone XS Max? The first step is to rip your Blu-ray to digital video format. To do that, you need the help of Blu-ray ripping software. Leawo Blu-ray Ripper, for example, is one program that I'd recommend.

Leawo Blu-ray Ripper can convert and rip Blu-ray to mp4 and all the other digital video formats that are compatible with any device you want to put it in. As a powerful Blu-ray ripping tool, Leawo Blu-ray Ripper can provide high quality conversion in a remarkable high speed. Convert your Blu-ray disc or Blu-ray ISO file to a digital video file, then transfer it to your iPhone XS Max with iTunes or Leawo iTransfer, and then you can have the amazing experience of watching Blu-ray on the biggest-sized iPhone ever made.

Is DVD/Blu-ray ripping legal? The answer may surprise you

Although we have entered an era where movies can be acquired easily online, DVD and Blu-ray are still not out of date. Many people still buy DVDs or Blu-rays for either collecting purpose,  or for viewing purpose, or just as a gift. For those who deal with DVD or Blu-ray a lot in their daily lives, you must have heard of the term "DVD ripping", maybe you have done some "DVD ripping" works yourself. But sometimes, "DVD ripping" is considered illegal, so you might have broken the law by ripping a DVD. Is it real? Is DVD/Blu-ray ripping legal?

When a person creates his or her own DVDs that are not copies of copyrighted work, ripping is completely legal. Which rights are reserved are typically listed in the type of copyright. Very often, the original creator has to be cited. To sell these types of materials though, be sure to obtain the proper business licenses. Also, check to see if there are additional state or local laws.

However, it's stated in title 17 of the United States Code that it is illegal to reproduce a copyrighted work. If a DVD or Blu-ray  has a label on the box that indicates a copyright, then it is technically illegal to make any copies of it for any reason, thus it's illegal for anyone to rip the DVD or Blu-ray. However, does that mean anyone who rip the DVD or Blu-ray deserves to be caught?

There is a difference between ripping the work for personal use and ripping it for redistribution purpose. Technically whether for what purpose do you rip a copyright protected DVD or Blu-ray it is illegal, However, most government agencies do not focus on what people do offline at home for their own personal use. The government's main concern is people who redistribute copies of copyrighted works. That is to say, if you rip a copy protected DVD or Blu-ray, then sell it to others for profit, you should definitely expect law enforcement knocking on your door. But if you only rip the DVD or Blu-ray for personal use, chances are no one would even care about that.

So, now we seem to have a conclusion. Ripping your homemade DVD? Totally legal. Ripping copyright protected DVD for personal use? Illegal but you most likely will get away with it. Ripping DVD for redistribution purpose? Don't even think about it, you'll get busted.

Now that we know we can rip homemade DVD or rip copyright protected DVD only for personal use, the problem is, how? Copyright protected DVD are always encrypted so that normal software would not be able to crack and rip it. How do we rip copyright encrypted DVD or Blu-ray for personal use?

There is this software called Leawo Blu-ray Ripper, it can handle protected Blu-ray and rip Blu-ray to mp4, mkv, m4v, 3gp and so many other digital formats so that you can play it on all the other devices you have. It can rip DVD as well. And not only discs, if you have ISO movie file, it can also convert the file into all those digital video formats.

As long as you do it only for personal use, you can relax and rip your DVD or Blu-ray. As far as the copyright protection is concerned, you can use Leawo Blu-ray Ripper to bypass the protection. Have fun with your movies!

Want to play MP4 on DVD? These are some things you need to know.

One thing about playing your favorite movie in MP4 on your PC is, it feels off. The screen is small, the audio is plain, and the couch is too far. Nothing comparies to watching the movie with a higher resolution monitor, lying on the couch and holding snacks on your hands. But only having a digital version of the movie, not a disc, this simple enjoyment becomes incredibaly hard, even impossible.

Finally you decide to put the MP4 file on a DVD disc, and play the disc on your DVD player. "Genius!" you said to yourself, not knowing the thing is way more complicated than you think. So before you get frustrated, read carefully as I explain everything you need to know to successfully play your MP4, or any digital film on your DVD player.

Pick the right disc

Not all DVD discs are the same. there are many kinds of DVD disc out there, to scucessfully play your MP4 on DVD player, make sure you use DVD-RW.  If you pick the wrong type, you may not be able to put the file into the disc in the first place, or even you are, it may not play on your DVD player.

Apply the right process

So you put your disc into the drive, drag the MP4 file to the disc and pull it out, expecting it will play on your DVD player, but chances are, it doesn't.

To make a DVD playable on a DVD player, you have to "burn" the file on the disc. Now this is a special process happens to a optimal disc so that it can be recognized by the DVD player. Simply storage your movie on the disc as an original MP4 file doesn't make it playable on the player.

Use the right program

So how to burn the MP4 to a DVD? A DVD burner program is necessary. Don't expect those "free" DVD burning programs can deliver you any good result. A professional DVD, or Blu-ray burning program can ensure you get a decent playable DVD or Blu-ray disc. As for me, I use Leawo DVD Creator, and it works perfectly fine.

Not only can Leawo DVD Creator make playable DVD disc out of any digital movie format, but also provide menu design and suctitle customization. It's promissing, stable and has a fair price.

Make sure you understand these three points, I'm sure you can make your MP4 perfectly playable on a DVD disc. Enjoy your movie night!

Announcements and highlights in Santiago Comic-con 2018 that may surprise you!

The exciting Santiago Comic-con (SDCC) 2018 is about to come to an end. There were so many great shows and exciting announcements and  interviews that deeply impressed us, especially for you guys who are so interested in TV series or movies. So here are some of the best announcements in SDCC that impressed me and that I would like to share with you.

The amazing Shazam! and Aquaman trailer.

Warner Bros. is apparently trying to seize the moment while Marvel's movie-verse essentially absent this year from SDCC's massive Hall H. And guess what, they did it. Warner Bros. successfully got everyone's attention with the brand new Shazam! and Aquaman movie trailer, especially the Shazam! trailer, which is considered a new groundbreaking work after the failure of Justice League.

The Aquaman trailer on the other hand, is just as exciting. It seems like Warner Bros. is finally trying to walk out of its previous failure and start to build a decent DCEU, which is defiantly a good thing for fans. Just don't mess everything up this time.

The Green Lantern Relaunch by Grant Morrison and Liam Sharp

Another announcement about DC. In an interview with acclaimed writer Grant Morrison (Batman, All-Star Superman) about DC's relaunch of the Green Lantern comic, the scribe explained how he's going to be focusing on Hal Jordan's life as a space cop. "Basically, it’s no more apocalypse-ending story lines," he said.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming back

Creator and producer of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Dave Filoni announced that the series will return for a final season At the show's 10th anniversary.

The show, which focuses on the years in between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, originally ran on Cartoon Network from 2008 through 2013, with a sixth season streaming on Netflix in 2014. For those still grieving the show’s cancellation, its return is cause for celebration. The new season will be 12 episodes long.

Little thoughts about Blu-ray

Speaking of Star war, it just comes to me that like a lot of fans, I've got a lot of Star War Blu-ray discs in my storage, and they really take a lot of space and sometimes could make quite a mess. I always wanted a way to rip Blu-ray to mp4 to make some room for all the new coming exciting Blu-ray  collections. And recently, I've found a way.

After doing some research, I've got to know that Handbrake and Leawo Blu-ray Ripper are the best programs to rip Blu-ray to mp4, and I decided that I'll go with Leawo Blu-ray Ripper because it looks more neat and I've used another program called Leawo Blu-ray Creator to burn Blu-ray to disc and it worked very well, so I decided to give it a try.

How does it perform? Well, I haven't got time to get down to it so I'll maybe do a brief review next time. But based on my experience on Leawo Blu-ray Creator, I believe the ripper should be performing just fine.

Final words

There are still tons of exciting news and announcements on SDCC, and maybe I'll bring you more of them next time, so stay tuned! and thanks for reading!
